One chance to make a first impression - again

Maverick’s used to be our favorite restaurant here in Wilson County. However since the new owner has taken over, this place is not worth the time or effort to pull in the parking lot! We have given the staff several tries thinking (hoping) that it was just an off day, but alas, it’s not the same place. First, we were seated at a dirty table, took about 15 minutes to offer drinks and take our order, and clean the table. Then after 45 minutes of watching the high school wait staff play grab a$$ I had to ask the Manger/Owner(?) for the status our meal. When it was brought out, the food was cold. After watching me pay for the meal the Manager/Owner(?) had the audacity to comment: “please give us another chance to make it right.” - Sorry bub, I’d rather eat at the Clown’s Yellow Arches than watch the circus you call a restaurant!

BEST BLACK ANGUS STEAK IN TEXAS

You'll find no other steak house like Mavericks. All steaks are Black Angus, the best grilled steak you'll ever eat and the bake potatoe is half the size of your plate fully loaded ! The desserts are all homemade. my husband loves the Apple Crisp but i get the homemade Banana Pudding and its out of this world ! Jo Anna Converse,Texas

Great steaks in the middle of nowhere

It takes awhile to get to the Maverick Grill but it's worth it. It's south of San Antonio on Hwy 181; you can easily miss it if you're not paying attention. In a simple rustic building, the Maverick serves up giant steaks, seafood platters, sandwiches and Mexican dishes, and everything I've eaten there is great. The Maverick steak is thick, juicy and delicious, and the cost is unbelievable. The fajitas are also great, and so is the shrimp. The baked potatoes are the biggest I've ever seen, and the desserts look great, although I've never made it that far. Most of the meals are less than $10. It's usually packed on weekends, especially Sunday after church, but the wait is never long.
